Panasonic LF1 create sharp photos with the Leica lens

Panasonic Lumix LF1 is comfortably smaller than Panasonic  Lumix LX7 and employs quite a different shape and style that's more reminiscent of Sony's RX100. 

The LF1 is also significantly slimmer. When powered down, the LX7 measures 50mm from its lens cap to its LCD screen, so it'll only fit in big pockets. You are free to go anywhere carrying LF1, compared with the digital SLR camera or prosumer camera, which is definitely heavier and larger.

LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMICRON lens

Panasonic DMC-LF1 is equipped with newly developed 28mm wide angle LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMICRON lens with 7.1x optical zoom (35mm camera equivalent: 28-200mm). The optical range has nearly doubled from the LX7 with a fresh 7.1x zoom that's equal to 28-200mm, equipping the LF1 with much longer telephoto coverage.

This supreme lens features F2.0 high speed, which boasts approx. 2x higher speed of F2.8 lens. Leica is well known as a maker of high-quality camera lenses. It seems that Panasonic have not thought of to use lenses from other manufacturers.

For beginners, iA (Intelligent Auto) mode helps you make beautiful pictures with a variety of shooting-assist functions including Intelligent D-range Control, AF Tracking, Intelligent Scene Selector, Face Recognition and Intelligent ISO Control. The iA Plus mode lets you adjust background focus, white balance, and exposure compensation for even more control.

Image Quality and Filter Effects

Autofocus and zooming was smooth and virtually quiet, and clips looked rich and detailed. Recording options include AVCHD at 1080-50i or MPEG-4 at 1080-25p. The Panasonic LF1 also supports Full HD video capture at 1,920 x 1,080 in 50i and AVCHD format, as well as 25p in MP4 output.  Panasonic DMC-LF1 can take photos while it's recording videos.

The Panasonic LF1 digital camera's Creative Control and Creative Retouch modes feature 15 filter effects. The Creative Control mode lets you shoot with a filter while checking how it looks on the picture. Certain filters can be used for video recording as well. The Creative Retouch mode lets you apply a filter on a picture, in camera, even after shooting. With the Creative Panorama function, you can apply 13 filter effects to your horizontal/vertical panoramic images.

Certain filters can be used for video recording as well. Videos can also be recorded in MP4 format (30p (NTSC) for playback on a PC or other device without having to convert the files, so it’s very convenient. The Auto Wind Cut function blocks out most of the noise from background wind, so you can make movies or video clip with a good quality result in stereo sound.

Dynamic range is also good and can be enhanced by using the iDynamic option, or alternatively the HDR shot will combine three shots at full resolution. Macro performance is quite good, allowing you to focus on subjects that are 3cm away from the camera.  Panasonic Lumix LF1 already equpped with  Digital filters, Creative Control mode  and Still Image Scene Mode, so you can create many fantastic pictures with your wild imagination.

Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity

Panasonic DMC LF1 also equipped with Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity. These features allow for the simple transfer of images between the LF1 and either smartphone or tablet, while the Panasonic Image App allows for remote operation of the LF1 through either Android or iOS device. With Wi-Fi you can instantly upload and share your images on a Social Networking Service using the Panasonic Image App on your tablet or smartphone.

You can maximize the NFC features and easy to use wireless TV Playback of your images with the Wi-Fi Direct function on a DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) - compliant VIERA HDTV. Print pictures wirelessly from a PictBridge printer using Wireless Print, and Panasonic's exclusive Cloud Sync Service synchronizes photos and videos among your devices.

Geotagging makes it possible to tag the location information of images by utilizing the Global Positioning System (GPS) log of your tablet /smartphone. The Instant Transfer function allows the camera to transfer your photos to your smartphone/tablet automatically whenever the shutter is released.
